2011 – Solange Joui – Mundo de Colores

mundo

Music for children, because there’s a child inside every one of us waiting for us to give him/her a chance to enjoy the life as it was once: only life.

I know Solange for a long time and it has been always a pleasure working with her. Beside of having some kind of kinship, we share also similar music and some other themes. She has been always in the music but also education and I think her skills working with little kids are such a big deal.

From all this experience comes her first album “Mundo de Colores”, in which I was full allowed to produce. What I did here was basically the arrangement, recording and mixing of her songs, some of them based on poems by Alicia Morel and Federico García Lorca. We were bravely helped by some music skilled relatives during the recording sessions.

The “colours” used for the music were taken out from our common taste in music, some “bossa-nova”, blues, rock, chilean folk music, some Orff instruments she used to teach in the music lessons, some licks to Spinetta and Los Jaivas, among others. We both recorded almost all the instruments.

This edition was issued under ©, with all rights reserved. However is still easy to listen to this work in youtube and to get the CD we’re promoting (and which I recommend to get just because is a beautiful work). The cover art was kindly offered by our friend Alicia Thayer Morel.
